(This is one of four informational files sent to LACTNET subscribers on a
more or less rotating basis. Mailing it also helps LISTSERV detect
addresses that are no longer valid, so it is mailed even when you are set
to NOMAIL. We hope you find it useful.)

                    BASIC COMMANDS FOR USING LACTNET

For those new, and not so new, to LACTNET, please review these commands.
Commands such as these are sent to the [log in to unmask]
address. NOTES to Lactnetters are sent to [log in to unmask] The
following are commands that may be sent at any time to
[log in to unmask]

Please remember that if you are going to be away for more than a few
days, and not receiving mail, you should Set yourself NOMAIL. LACTNET
generates at least 100 messages per day. If you do not SET LACTNET NOMAIL
while away, you will either have a mailbox full and a warning from your
own system, OR you will be deleted from LACTNET, due to error generation.
When you return, send a message to LISTSERV that reads:
                            Set LACTNET Mail
to resume functioning.
