Someone wrote: <Another objection, especially among people with a strong belief in the natural abilities of the human body, is that it's seen as an unnecessary intervention. After all, we evolved over millions of years without supplements.> I have become very leary of this sort of rationalization. Aside from the obvious: (at what cost did we evolve over thousands of years, how many lives were lost because of technology etc. we didn't yet have) it does not take into account how much our societies and ourselves have changed in lifestyles over these thousands of years. So much of our modern day illnesses would not have existed long ago (ex: obesity) because lifestyles were so different. I, too, have great confidence in the human body's natural abilities but I don't think it holds water to say: well it worked for the human body all this time in the past so... We have new "modified" human bodies that may not work so well or may work better in specific circumstances. Some of the change is due to evolution, some to modern society lifestyles and some to environment, nonetheless we ALL have changed. We are not the same as we were thousands of years ago and I think we need to recognize this and not compare today with yesterday. JMHO anyone else have thoughts? PS I'm not trying to be nasty to the person who originally stated this so don't send me flames, I have just heard this several times and it's starting to not sit right as valid justification so I'm just expressing my opinion. _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
