Has anyone seen this study: it was quoted in Working Mother magazaine, April 1998: "What influences a mother to breastfeed? 600 women were studied at Dept. of Pediatrics and Steele Memorial Childrens Research Center at U. of Ariz. at Tucson. Hospital policy has something to do with it. Women breastfed longer when the following conditions were met: During the mother's stay, the hospital did not give her formula or a discharge pack containing formula and/or formula coupons, and the mother shared a hsopital room with her newborn during more than 60% of her stay. Hospital policies encouraging breastfeeding education and promotion may contribute to an increase in the duration of breastfeeding, the authors conclude." does anyone have a copy of this study, or know where it appears? Pearl Shifer, IBCLC NYC who spent the afternoon in the doctor's office and came across this interesting item... _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
