Hello all. Just received my new American Baby magazine. Well, on page 10, is a full 2 page add, which as soon as you open it, you see a huge baby bottle filled up with a white liquid. At the top corner is a can of parent's choice infant formula. Below that is the statement, "The Miracle of Birth. The reality of life." Spread across the page are the words: "Let's talk about something that occupies your every waking moment." Below that is: "And let's face it, most of your moments are waking." The script below this reads: "Congratulations. You have a new alarm clock. She goes off about every four hours announdcing in no uncertain terms it's time to eat. Of course you don't need a reminder your baby's nourishment is of utmost importance. And while breast milk (notice two words) is considered best, it's reassuring to know Parent's Choice formula is designed to the hightest standards, with all the fats, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients your baby needs to reach her considerable potential. Comforting thought. As is the knowledge that it's Dad's turn to wake up next." Now, as a breastfeeding mother, and a peer counselor I am highly bothered by this ad. I feel as if it totally blows off breastfeeding. Maybe I read this ad in the wrong way, but I don't think so! The info on the ad says, "Look for it at Wal-Mart. 1998 Parents' Choice is a product of Wyeth Nutritionals Inc. Georgia, VT 1-800-272-5095 The address that I found online is: WYETH NUTRITIONALS INC 1 ACORN LN COLCHESTER VT 05446-1949 802-655-2425 I have not been able to find an e-mail address for them, but will continue looking.
