Philadelphia Inquirer:

More myths being perpetuated about breastfeeding. Why do people think
that all breastfeeding women experience "cracked nipples, plugged milk
ducts, embarrassing leaks, and blouses that gap over bulging busts"?
Probably because these images are perpetuated in the media. In my
opinion, these breastfeeding problems are not the norm, and indicate a
need for breastfeeding help - or a larger size blouse. Lactation
consultants are health care professionals skilled in the art and science
of breastfeeding. Mother to mother support groups are everywhere and
most mothers are easily helped to correct these problems, if they
experience them.

I wouldn't say that this bottle-fed generation is doing great. I see
tons of health problems all around me. Surviving vs thriving is how I
see it. And Dr. Buch, the pediatrician quoted in the article, has not
been reading the same scientific literature
as I have. Hopefully she will read and follow the new guidelines in her
own professional journal. The extensive list of references at the end
would make excellent reading.
