Julia, You wrote about a two week old with short frenulum and clicking sounds and nice weight gain so far. My response is to keep watching that baby for weight gain a few more weeks and for constant hunger. I once wrote about the baby I saw. First look at him showed me a tied tongue. Then much to my surprise, he sailed through the day and the next and the next two weeks drinking and stooling and gaining weight. After two weeks, mother's abundant supply started to dwindle and baby started constant nursing and slow weight gain. No sore nipples (very elastic type nipples). Kittie Franz wanted to see this baby after mom described her problem at a Philly conference where Kittie was speaking. By the time, the problem was clear to all of us, they had started bottle feeding and mom's supply was really low. We learned a lot from this one. I saw two such cases in the last two weeks. Just stay watchful for a few weeks. Opal Horvat, BA, IBCLC Bergenfield, NJ
