How did the physicians make such a diagnosis? What is the reason for feeding the baby by bottle? What if he does have reflux? If he gains well and is content, what if he does spew all over the walls? Isn't it a little early to be making such a radical decision? Better latch, finish one side before offering the other, and maybe he'll spit up less. Try feeding the baby straddling the mother's thigh. But maybe nothing at all is necessary. Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC
