Thanks for this interesting info and statistics. So many moms in my mew mom's
group c/o baby spitting up or being "worked up" for reflux. In addition to
the recomendations cited in your post, a suggestion could be made to increase
hindmilk intake for the breastfed baby. This may include decreasing foremilk
intake, ie: pump off a little foremilk pre fdg, then increase fdg duration on
the first breast, with massage towards the end of the fdg on that first
breast to more fully empty ducts of hindmilk. This can decrease difficulties
with an  overabundance of foremilk, and have a similar effect as the
recomendation to provide thickened fgds, as hindmilk is thicker than
foremilk. Makes sense to me anyway and fairly consistently improves the
situation. Does anyone know of anything in the literature documenting the
effect of hindmilk on reflux specifically ?
