Help, Lactnetters, I have been trying to search the Lactnet archives for information on severe adult acne and its association with breastfeeding. There were a couple of posts recently on Lactnet, but they were anecdotal. What references or wisdom do you have to share on this subject? A client who had never had problems with acne and who is breastfeeding for the first time has had to be treated for severe cystic acne that was complicated by also having a yeast infection superimposed on the acne!! She has been on Monodox and Sporanox for a week, and she has been pumping and dumping to preserve her milk supply. She seems like a really committed breastfeeding Mom, and I would like to be able to give her some good information about her situation. I'm concerned about her taking the Sporanox, because Dr. Hale's book says that "large quantities concentrate in fatty tissues, leakage from fat tissues into milk over prolonged periods should be expected." I am hoping that you can shed some light on this topic, especially as to when she can safely put her baby back to breast. TIA Lois Warrington, RN,BSN,IBCLC, Baton Rouge, LA
