Thrush and teats 12/4/96

Diane,

The teats do not cost enough to run the risk of continued contamination
(without mentioning the hardship of continued discomfort/illness) because of
inadequate cleaning/boiling. Discarding the contaminated teats and purchasing
new ones would be the safest (yeast contamination-wise, not
nitrate/nitrite-wise) approach IF teats are needed (I am a believer of the
wholistic approach: mother is THE pacifier). It would be interesting to see a
study on the determination of the hardiness of Candida (and of the teats)
after so many boiling sessions for so many minutes.
