I've got to call a new client this morning who is about to give up bf her third child. She failed with the other two. The data I have is that the baby was diagnosed as lactose intolerant by a pedi; mother wants to give up bf because the baby is extremely gassy and appears colicky, and the intense cries bother both parents. Mother had been ingesting a LOT of dairy per the advice of her chiropractor. She has elected to stay home with the baby (not return to work as previously planned). She has been advised as to non-dairy sources of calcium. What else can I tell her? TIA Nancy Kramer LLL CBPC
