I received a call from a mother who is due for her 10yr tetanus booster
this October. Her nursing child will be 7 months old at that time and has
received the usual immunizations including tetanus as recently as 6 months
of age. I know that tetanus vaccine is not contraindicated for nursing
mom. The mother's concern was for whether the baby could get "too much",
like an overdose of tetanus from both his vaccine and hers just a month
apart.

My gut feel is that it's not a concern, (I'm guessing that if anything is
passed through, it doesn't have much/any effect taken orally), but I don't
have anything hard and fast to back this up. Does anyone know more surely
whether or not this could be a problem?

TIA,

Susan
