Assunta, Having worked in Nursery and Postpartum for 7 years, I agree with you that it's usually harder to deal with the nurses than the doctors. I think that it is a complex issue due to nurses wanting the control they use to have 10 or 20 years ago, not wanting to deal with the long process of teaching breastfeeding, needing to get an "acceptable" feeding in the chart before the end of their shift and for some even the refusal to support breastfeeding because they chose ABM for their kids and don't want to admit that they were wrong or feel guilty. But we are moving forward, at times it seems like it's one step forward and two steps back but we are slowly winning. I use a lot of "bathroom liiterature" posted in the restrooms to educate without confrontation. I do see progress. So we just need to 'keep on keepin' on.' Sharon Coe LVN IBCLC
