Jeanette, Re: the money from the formula company that goes into a pot from which you are paid. I suspect that most hospitals are taking money from formula companies in one way, shape or form, and I suspect that the money simply goes into the general budget and pays for lots of things. YOU are not being paid directly from the formula company. YOU are being paid by the hospital. YOU are doing wonderful things for bf, and YOU are not compromising your standards, because YOUR check stub (I presume) states that your employee is XYZ hospital. I would, however, consider discussing the ethical, not to mention ironical issues of having the money from your salary come from the formula company, and that it makes you uncomfortable. Tell them you want your salary to come from the general hospital funds, either maternal/child health, education, or marketing (LCs derive their salaries from any of the above), rather than have it be specifically designated as coming from PU ABM Company. DO NOT OFFER YOUR SERVICES FOR FREE!! If your salary has to come from someplace special, I suggest that it come from whichever HMO/PPO is the major factor in your area, as you are going to save them 1000s of $$$ through improved health for babies and mothers.
