I have just returned from the New York-West Area Conference where one of the panels was about the legal rights of nursing mothers. Both of the presenters were lawyers who had practised long-term breastfeeding. I was intrigued by the tongue-in-cheek reply given to a question about overnight visitation when the child was not emotionally ready: let the man see what it is like to deal with a screaming baby all night - he won't do it twice! Now, I'm not sure of the circumstances under which I would allow *my* nursling to make such a visit, but it's an interesting idea, isn't it! Norma Ritter, IBCLC, LLLL [log in to unmask]
