General Question to anyone...I have always wondered if babies born at
home have trouble nursing. Do lactation consultatants or lll leaders
see these moms for the same problems that show up with hospital
births?

I have a private practice where I see mostly babies with ordinary births,
sometimes with LOTS of intervention. But I also see babies born at home and
those born at hospital but with not intervention. Sometimes, even these babies
have problems nursing.

My most intractable breastfeeding problem was a little girl born at home who
would not attach until she was 2 weeks old. She was fed pumped milk and a
little formula with cup and occasional bottle. When she finally started
nursing she did everything right. Mom wonders if a yeast infection could have
been the problem. I don't have a clue.
