Hi Nancy,
This is purely from a personal point of view. I just miscarried a month ago
(has it really been that long already? Seems like yesterday sometimes.), was
6.4 weeks along, and was BF my now 20 mo old quite frequently. I, too, was
concerned about what would happen, but nothing did. I noticed no increase or
decrease in my supply. Ben did start BF more since I think he sensed my
sadness and frustration at the situation, and the BF seemed to help us both.
Then I did start to notice an increase, but I figured it was simply because
he was nursing more and for longer periods of time.
That's all I can tell you, hopefully there will be someone who has a more
"medical" type answer for us!
Take care,
Jay
