Kudos to Katherine! I, too, would have loved to have seen the expression on the hospital rep.'s face when you hit her with all those undenial facts! Money talks much more than newborn babes! I've been lurking for a couple of months now and figured it was about time for me to post my intro. My name is JoAnna Godwin Parente, and I'm an LLL Leader in Goose Creek, SC, just outside of Charleston. I co-lead with two other, one being Beth Hilleke (Hi!) online, my ACL. I moved here last August from Hampton, VA, where I was accredited just before we moved. I'm originally from Benson, NC, just outside of Raleigh. I attended UNC-Chapel Hill where I graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in psychology. Not that it matters, but I think I will eventually take the boards to be a LC when my little ones are big ones one day. I have a son, Jacob, two and a half years old and a daughter, Grace, who is three months old now. They are my life right now besides LLL. Nuff said. Oops- my husband would be offended at my oversight - I'm married to Vince since just after my graduation from UNC. He's a nuclear machinist mate 1st class, submariner. Right now he's on his shore duty as an instructor here at this sub. prototype. I've learned a great deal while reading Lactnet and I'm enthusuastic about breastfeeding advocacy in the future with all the great minds found here as the backbone! I could add tons to the epi. thread but I must go... Warmly, JoAnna
