Another personal story...My daughter vomited enough milk to soak a small cloth diaper after every feeding for at least six months. The milk just kind of gushed up, not projectile. She seemed to feed much more calmly that her older brother and generally only took one breast at a feeding. She was very healthy and gained 2#/month for the first year until she started walking, at which time she slimmed down a bit. The doctor was never concerned, in fact she encouraged me to delay solids as long as possible. In contrast, my son nursed almost continuously, it seemed, took both breasts twice at each feed, never spit up and hovered at the bottom of the growth charts. Today, both in their teens, they are both very tall, he very thin, she average to slightly overweight. By the way, he also had very severe allergies having been given ABM in the hospital to which he developed severe excema, then food allergies, then asthma, in spite of being completely bf after the hospital experience, with me on a restricted diet for several years. Goes to show what "just a little formula" can do to a baby with the right genetic makeup. Anyways, back to the original problem, I would advise the mom to keep extra cloth diapers in the car, baby bag, etc. I always panicked when caught without one, knowing that after the next feed would come the deluge!
