If it hurts to BF or pump (either nipples or the shooting pains) because of the ductal thrush, the mom may empty her breast less often and THAT will reduce supply. The first mom's increasing fluids probably helped her bladder but had no effect on supply. In any case, increased frequency and thoroughness of emptying the breast should bounce supply back up quickly. And then both moms need some good education on avoiding another bout of yeast.
