CPD stands for cephlo-pelvic disproportion, which means that the baby's head
(cephlo) is "too big" for the mother's pelvis.  It is a very rare condition and
many believe that it only truly occurs in 2% of first time mothers (more
pregnancies tend to make the pelvic joints looser - that they remember to open,
and open more easily).  It is one of the controversies in childbirth.
