>Hi everyone > >Women are often told that stress, fatigue, etc will inhibit their let-down (milk >Fiona Coombes MBBS IBCLC Fiona, I am not sure that it is stress as all that inhibits the MER. An with absolutely no research to back me,.... I think the moms talk themselves into not letting down whether to baby or pump. As far as stress, weren't most of the babies in the bomb shelters of WWII England breastfed? I do not know what stress levels particular women feel but I am sure it would be significantly less than the women in the shelters who did ok. Come to think of it, most babies in most wars are breastfed because of inconsistant artificial milk supplies. Sometimes reasurring moms that their emotional state should not affect MER, often allows it to happen.
