Lisa, re the 33 year old mom who had nipple "repair" surgery for inverted nipples at age 13. A few years ago when my nusing toddler started having epileptic seizures there was a real concern that he might have a seizure while nursing and bite my nipple off. This didn't happen,(and am I ever relieved) but my doctor (a LLL Med Assc.) said that if it did, repair would have to be done with micro surgery. I'm wondering if there has ever been micro-surgery to re-attatch the nipples and nerve endings etc to create a "working" (ie functioning) nipple. I remember a case a couple of years ago of micro-surgery being used (successfully) to re-attatch a penis. It is probably too late for this woman, but could someone out there tell us all- is this possible? Nancy Sherwood, LLLL, IBCLC, In Perth, Australia
