Marie, "They called anesthesia to SEDATE HER" ??? (Yes I am shouting!) I have *never* heard of such a thing, unless nurses in that hospital cannot give their own Valium injections!!!! There was a LOT more going on here than you have been told. Considering that you are one of this mother's care providers, it is atrocious that you have not been given more information about this whole situation. Something is very, very wrong and I think you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Since the dust-up happened after you left, you were a convenient person on whom to pin the blame but you are NOT the one who should shoulder it! All of my antennae are going off at this description..... ! Please be careful and if you do have future interaction with this mother I would suggest that you be accompanied by a colleague. Your chagrin and compassion are the humane reactions to have to someone in such obvious distress. Just remember that what is "obvious" may not necessarily be what's wrong! Mary Renard
