Hi you wonderful LCs Im Lee, mother of four, 5years, 4years, 2years and a four month old. Semi retired teacher with an interest in BF. education for young children. Would like to cross train as LCwhen kids at school. I have been a high dependancy client of 3 LCs and a midwife in Aus.,over past five years and four breastfeeding children, for many and varied BF probs. Let me say I can personally vouch for the fact that a lot of mums out there wouldnt be able to provide the nutrition and comfort ther babes needed without your help at some stage. And yes Im still feeding. And just because we dont see you when the BFis going well, we still remember your work. One advantage of the myriad of probs and opinions Ive had is see how much BF knowledge has advanced particularly in the last 5 yrs. Weve come a long way from applying Tinc Benz to cracked nipples(common Aus practise 5 years ago), and Ill be the first to fight for the recognition and treatment of ductal thrush. Re Linda Smith and church, well our church in Sydney had a high proportion of families with very young ch, so we started another service, initially approx 30 parents and up to 80 children, mostly babies preschool and infants, we lock the doors put crates of toys up the aisle and and I for one have always BF as and where was.We even take drinks of water in for new BF motherrs to drink during service. There is a crying room, it is reverting to storage as we dont use it. Ihave learnt to feed my fourth and rehearse church piano, simultaneously. (Piano playing sounds better with babe on LHS , compensate notes with Right hand on piano) (ignore this any new mums learning BF positioning!!! I hope the BF friendly service idea catches on. Lee, Conservatorium Graduate Con-Artist I admit that I do maintain COBOL code that refers to UPSI switches. But I've never ever seen one for real. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kerry Choy No God, No Peace Castle Hill, NSW Know God, Know Peace Australia
