From Indiana, state of changeable weather(I know Chicago is too) Is there one antihistamine better for breastfeeding moms over another-I = think short acting benadryl is what I had to take and had no serious milk decrease. A pt. of mine is taking one 30mg pseudephedrine at night. It has a short = half-life,one of the shortest from Dr.Hale's book.Could just a once a day dose cause a lower than expected milk supply? (She's having to use FTD at all feedings for slow infant wt. gain.Baby = is now 5 weeks old and just returned to wt. gain BUT for 2-3 weeks = prior to last week her HCP told her to supplement with formula and only = nurse 3 minutes/side so that 9# baby wouldn't wear himself out and expend all his calories via nursing! Another large baby = that only wants to nurse Q 4 hrs.) TIA again,Denise Ferrell,IBCLC DCF @iquest.net P.S.We're very much interested in starting an ILCA affiliation for = central and southern Indiana and are getting schedules together to plan some initial get-togethers.All Hoosiers are welcome as are Netters. =
