I hadn't considered an allergic reaction, but I have wondered how effective
my suck evaluations are when the baby is sucking on mylatex-covered finger.
Do you think the nasty taste of that stuff causes the baby to suck less
effectively than s/he would at the mom's nice, warm, yummy breast? I try to
avoid doing an assessment whenever possible, because I don't want to cause
any kind of aversive reaction to sucking. Now I can worry about anaphylaxis,
too.
