There are many choices. SO far I quess I like ABM the best since it rolls off the tongue nice, it is short and helps convey the ARTIFICIAL nature of the product. Dr. Gartner suggested<<< Processed Infant Milk Product.>>> This is certainly a very descriptive term but I feel it is too long to say, but the acronym certainly is degrogatory: PIMP. This brings to mind a term I think somebody 'Down Under' in Australia suggested: (S)ubstitue (H)uman (I)nfant-feeding (T)echnique (Read the first letters to get the full meaning.) In a similar vein there is: Compounded Repulsive Alternative Product. I think the term HUMAN MILK is good as it helps to stress that the milk comes not from a cow or soybean. Artificial Milk is good for its' shock value to others that it might just make them stop and think for a moment that 'IT' is not what mother nature intended for the baby. FORMULA is bad for the reasons previously cited it conveys science and good. Perhaps all the creative minds on lactnet can create other terms to find the best one. Jon Ahrendsen MD
