I read with interest your recent communication regarding N-- artificial teats. Your clinic sounds interesting. To treat sucking disorders in babies, who does the initial evaluation and diagnosis of same? LC or speech pathologist, or someone else? On what basis do you make such a diagnosis if it is you? And once such a problem has been identified, how do you resolve it? I practice in an area with a smaller, rural population with few of these more specialized medical facilities available. You mentioned use of the old-fashioned long, straight bottle teat. Could you elaborate more on this? Thanks! Betsy Wall, IBCLC
