Nausea: to add to the dialog about breastfeeding and early pregnancy nausea symptoms, I, too, have wondered about this. I was pregnant 3 times while breastfeeding. Twice, I had no nausea and hardly knew I was pregnant. Once I was fairly nauseated. The two other pregnancies in which I was not nursing at conception, I experienced fairly intense nausea. I also noticed that I experienced no breast tenderness in the pregnancies where I breastfed -- nipple tenderness after a few months, yes -- but not the generalized soreness that makes one want to immobilize one's breasts so that they can't bounce with any movement. Systemic yeast: I am confused about this issue. I know there are books out and discussions going on on this topic but I was under the impression that the only people at risk of systemic yeast are those who are severely immune compromised such as with HIV or people undergoing chemo. Can someone comment on systemic yeast infections and perhaps enlighten me about this? Thanks. Ione Sims, GNM, IBCLC
