Does anyone have any references regarding general anesthesia and
breastfeeding?
Our anesthesia department requires all woman who are receiving tubal ligations
4-6 weeks out after delivery to pump and discard any where from the first
feeding after surgery to 24 hours. Some of the miss informed have told the mom
ahead of time to get formula to give to the baby for these missed feedings.
I've enlightened them to the fact that the breast pump they want the mom to
use after delivery can be used ahead of time to collect milk for the infant
during her " mandatory" pump and discard routine.

Thanks,
Cheryl
