IMHO, yes, the mom is a prime candidate for yeast problems after birth
and should treat it now as much as possible. I would also counsel her
regarding dietary measures to help minimize yeast growth, and if vaginal
yeast has been a chronic problem, her husband should be treated also, as
he quite likely shares it and may give it back to her even if he is
asymptomatic. The yeast she has now is nothing compared to the breast and
nipple pain that she may get if she doesn't knock it down before birth.
