Really, truly, this is my last post before vacation..... I just found out that the WSJ printed an article today (8/3/95 page A8) entitled "Sacrificing Babies on the Altar of Privacy". This seems to go along with the information that I posted just before ILCA from the CDC that is calling for all pregnant mothers to be tested for AIDS. This WSJ article says "Yet these babies are at terrible risk because they are very likely to get the virus through breast feeding - mother's milk is a prime carrier of HIV." Another "happy World Breastfeeding Week" greeting from the WSJ..... What a tradition! Perhaps someone can post the addresses so those of us who wish to respond may do so. At least Bill Clinton signed a letter this year recognizing the health benefits of breastfeeding. That is more than I can say for the Republican governor of Ohio who has failed to sign a breastfeeding resolution for the last 2 years (3 years ago he did sign it.). Our governor is the proponent of the "Watch me grow" program which is supposed to focus on infant and child heatlh. I guess the only health that is really important is that of the corporations that reside in this state (one of which is a major manufacturer of abm.) MONEY talks, unfortunately babies are not wealthy. Quote of the day: from Marianne Williamson's "A Woman's Worth", "A queen is wise. She has earned her serenity, not having had it bestowed on her but having passed her tests. She has suffered and grown more beautiful because of it. She has proven she can hold her kingdom together. She has become its vision. She cares deeply about something bigger than herself. She rules with authentic power." As we all care so very much about something far bigger than ourselves, we all are queens!! I'm off to the mosquitoes of Wisconsin....... Bye. ..... Queen Mosquito Bait
