Hello all. I am new here but not to breastfeeding(3 kids in 3 1/2 yrs all brestfed) I hope you don't mind my jumping in with a reply re: pumping but I too have had trouble. My first child was born 3.5 months early and I did not get to hold her for 2 weeks nor did I get to nurse for over a month. My milk supply was dependant soley on the pump. Of course after 2 months I hated the thing but I had trouble getting anything more than 2oz. I was not given the nasal spray as an option but I used discarded blankets from my daughters isolette, sometimes they were even soiled but I was a desperate mom and even though it was not a traditional baby smell it was the only one I had to relate my child with and after trying all the other mental games it was the one that worked. The lc at the hospital was floored when I finally told her, she had not thought of this particular "trick". Here I thought I'd be ridiculed for nabbing hospital linens, and dirty ones at that. I also eventually started using the same soap that was at the hosp while I was at home to kind of trick my brain into action. Anything in a pinch right? Thanks for letting me share, Rhonda Barbieri
