"Regular" lanolin has a higher propensity to trigger sensitivities in some people, and there have been concerns, especially in Australia, for contaminants such as pesticides that could conceivably be passed to baby. Of the two purified products, Lansinoh is the original and the highest grade (I believe that they are 1% different), while Purelan is slight less pure and also less expensive. "Moist Wound Healing" was first popularized from an article done using Lansinoh with several women.
