The MD's may have more input on this than I, but the stridor is common after swelling occurs in the windpipe. My daughter inhaled a crayon into her right lung at 18 mo and had to be scoped. (The scope is a lot bigger than the suction tube but by percentages I'd bet it's pretty close.) Ariel had horrible stridor with lower than normal O2 levels for 3 days. She didn't nurse very well either, she couldn't breathe and her throat was really sore. They kept her in cold mist until the stridor was gone. The subsequent dx of laryngomalasia bothers me. I couldn't find this dx in any of my resources . Laryngomyalgia would be pain in the mucles around the larynx. What is it exactly?
