Hi. Just wanted to respond to the piece on use of Gentian violet that Jan Barger put up. Although I agree that sometimes people get carried away with paranoid fears re: use of certain "home remedies," etc..I do not think that I would like to take a chance with Gentian violet use for Thrush. It has been implicated in development of cancer, and it also can cause oral ulcerations if used improperly. I would go with the other methods already outlined, in order of increasing power, ie vinegar and water, then nystatin topically, then up to the Diflucan etc...route.
