Hi. I think I read somewhere that the PDR recommends that 80% of all drugs are not compatible with nursing. Most of these 20% that they claim are ok are antibiotics. The PDR is paid for by the drug companies, who do not usually test...much,...and who do not want any liability. The PDR is not a good source of info on medications and bf,...isn't this true, ???( Asking our resident pharmacist, ANNE!!!...) Kathleen >Thank you to the many people who have responded with thoughts on thrush. >So much of this conversation would make an excellent article. There has >been more here in a week, than I could find in the literature. >The resistance to the use of Diflucan (could someone give me a phonetic >spelling of this) is the good ole PDR has it contraindicated in mursing >mothers. Any comments? THe other argument I have heard is that it is >"destroyed" in the stomach and therefore can not be effective in the >breast. I realize that contraindicates the first question, however.... >comments appreciated. >Thank you again especially to Marie and Anne. > ********************************************************** Kathleen B.
