It is not unusual from my personal experience to have pumping difficulty on return to work despite no nursing difficulties. The stress of working often make these not optimal hours for adequate milk expression. I have gone to pumping simultaneously with nursing in the morning and evening figuring if double pumping increases prolactin, so should one pump and one baby. It also makes let down much easier. These worked until about 8 months when the baby started pulling on the pump tubing but by this point the supply was back up. -- **************************************************** * Deena Zimmerman MD MPH * * Department of Pediatrics * * UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School * * 1 RWJ Place * * New Brunswick, NJ 08903 * * * * phone (908) 235-7248 * * fax (908) 235-7345 * * email [log in to unmask] (internet) * ****************************************************
