I've been gone and trying to catch-up - Yikes! The SIDS research mentioned from New Zealand was done by Ed Mitchell. After reanalysing their data, they found the risk associated with parents and baby sleeping together was tied to the Mauri population, where alcohol and smoking were also very high. As far as I remember, they withdrew the blanket statement that there was risk associated with co-sleeping. I haven't checked the literature, but I thought something was published. Pat Lewis
