Hello, As Inpatient LC (the only LC) in a small community hospital (~850 births/ year) I see every breastfeeding mom, daily. My usual routine is discharges, feeding issues, new births, primiparas & routine rounds. I also see any babies and/or moms admitted on Peds or MedSurg as needed. -recently a mom with cholyecysitis and one with a mastitis MRSA infection. I definitely do not see every feeding. Unfortunately with feeding schedule, assisting another mom, and of course the Moms that don't call for feeding assistance/ observations I have some babies that I have not seen any feeding during their stay. Yes, the nursery nurse (primarily) and the postpartum nurse assists with breastfeeding. *********************************************** Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.html To reach list owners: [log in to unmask] Mail all list management commands to: [log in to unmask] COMMANDS: 1.
