There is a forthcoming article in the Journal of Human Lactation
entitled "Medicaid
IBCLC Service Coverage following the Affordable Care Act and the Center for
Medicare and Medicaid Services Update" by Rachel A. Herold

 and Karen Bonuck

This provides a nice summary of the current landscape of Medicaid coverage
for IBCLC services. USLCA has been working tirelessly on this issue and
making some progress, slowly but surely. Members of USLCA have access to
numerous documents advocating for this coverage. It is very important that
those IBCLCs who are interested in Medicaid reimbursement join USLCA, as
your membership fees allow the organization to work directly on securing
Medicaid reimbursement for you. Donations to USLCA can be directed
specifically to this endeavor.

As Judy Gutowski mentioned in her great post, IBCLC reimbursement is quite
possible in Medicaid managed care organizations. These are state specific,
meaning that one must contact each of the entities in your own state on an
individual basis. If anyone needs help in this please let me know.
