One of the best things about IBCLCs is that we have come from so many different professions.  This has give us so many different perspectives and info and I wouldn't want it any other way.  IBCLC needs to be a stand alone profession and we do need licensing ( which would also make hospitals more comfortable)  Other allied health professionals are licensed.....
I just happened to have been an RN before the first test, but my training was from being a LLLL and mom.  Pat in SNJ
