I would expect baby to regain birth weight in a week or so after birth and then proceed along his personal path on the growth chart. His intake will fit his needs. Sounds like everything is going OK at this point. So sad tho, what a long struggle they will have. Pat in SNJ

Hello,

I am working with a mom and her 10-day-old baby who was born with no limbs. At this point there are no other known medical issues with the baby. I am wondering if anyone has experience working with a baby with no limbs because I would like to know what to expect as normal growth since arms and legs will not be growing, and if his intake would be expected to be less than we would typically see. At this point, baby is pooping with every feeding, is very happy and satisified after feeds and looks great. Any shared experiences would be much appreciated. Could you please respond directly to my email address at [log in to unmask]

Thank you!
