Does haemangioma need to be treated? My son (admittedly 31 years ago!) had a haemangioma in the eye area, and we did not know how big it would grow....as it happened, it grew to the size of a cherry and did not affect his sight . It was not treated in any way, though of course this baby may have a different sort of haemangioma and it may be affecting sight. My undersanding is that haemangiomas disappear (as his did, eventually). Propanolol seems a heavy-duty med to give to a five-month-old baby - and yes, what on earth would be the justificstion for giving formula afterwards? Could it be the doc just meant 'feed the baby afterwards' and just assumed formula feeding? It needs challeging, IMO.
