I'm thinking maybe liability is more likely the issue. Perhaps Medela got wind of a law suit or their risk management folks are like ours, lol...When we first started renting/selling breast pumps our lawyers were concerned that someone might drop one in the bathtub and electrocute themselves! they wanted to make sure that the fine print covered that possibility.
