You did not say what the nipples look like? My best bet would be vasospasm. You do NOT have to personally see any white or purple color changes to have it happening. Would try heating pad on "low" for at least 5 minutes after feeds, over clothes. Would also investigate possibility of oversupply, with baby staying shallow and clicking to try not to increase flow.
