Hi Terri That is a normal early weight loss, and then a 2 pound wt gain in about 3 wks. What is wrong with that? The baby seems to be doing some cluster feeding and then some longer intervals. What strikes me is the precise recording of the times (or was mother doing this just to document her problem?), and that most feeds are very short. I don't remember the original case, but it does not seem that a lack of fat is an issue. Has this mother/baby been observed in person during a feeding? It could be oversupply, overactive letdown, or a poor latch or poor positioning. I have seen some crazy positions where baby just could not get a good latch nor get comfortable. Has she tried breast compression to keep baby bf a bit longer? Laurie Wheeler RN MN IBCLC Mississippi USA ----------------------------------------- Smart Medicine. Inspired Care.
