Hi Jennifer,

I had a client with very large, soft pendulous breasts (46 JJ nursing bra size) that had a very difficult time latching baby as well. Very similar to your story.

We tried all sorts of various positions, what ended up working for her was: kneeling on the floor by bed (think of kneeling on your knees praying) with breasts on bed. Baby then lied on bed in cradle hold. This worked well for baby, but very hard on mom's knees!
Her alternate that also worked was sitting in an upright chair at her dining room table and placing her breasts directly on the table for support. Baby again lied on table in cradle position.
Because of the difficulty mom had finding a comfortable position breastfeeding with her large breasts, she choose to pump and feed EBM to the baby when they were out in public and feed directly from the breast when at home. Not ideal, but it worked for them and isn't that what's important. :)

Good Luck,
