Current issue of ICAN (Infant, Child, & Adolescent Nutrition) has editorial by Linda Heller on CDC recommendation to use 
2006 WHO Growth Charts based on breastfeeding for children birth to 23 months.
"Since breast milk is the well-accepted preferred source of infant nutrition, these charts are designed to reflect the
standards for weight for age, length or stature for age, weight for length or stature, and BMI for age as opposed
to a reference such as is the case of the CDC charts."
